“Season of Creation: Sky Sunday”

Scripture: Job 38: 4 – 11, 39: 1 – 6 and Psalm 19:1, — Jill A. Kirchner-Rose, MDIV, DMIN On this Sky Sunday, we celebrate the subtle orange skies at dawn, the clear blue skies at noon, the bold red skies at sunset, and the twinkling skies at midnight. We give thanks for air, the life-giving breath of God. We honor the clouds that carry nourishing drops of rain which bring hope and healing to the Earth. Unfortunately, at the same time, carbon dioxide, methane, and other greenhouse gases are on the rise in our atmosphere. In the years and decades ahead, may we, humans, make ourselves smaller and live more simply so that all of creation can simply live.
